Far Eastern Innovations Receive the Star of the Far East Award

Medset, a project from Yakutia, won the award in the Technological Innovations nomination

The awards ceremony for the 3rd Star of the Far East social and business award was held as part of the program for the Days of the Far East festival held in Moscow. The winners of the 11 nominations included journalists, representatives of the Russian and international business community, participants of the Far Eastern Hectare program, volunteers, and hi-tech entrepreneurs were also included this year for the first time.

The Technology Innovations category brought together most diverse initiatives — from waste processing and seismic hazard assessment to banking software and shore power plants — and it proved to be the most popular category.

The Medset project from Yakutia (electronic service for medical institutions) was declared the winner in this category. The list of prizewinners includes the Pentakan project being implemented in Primorsky Krai (cosmetics made from sea cucumbers) and Enreport project from Yakutia (electronic service for energy companies). The awards were presented by Ruslan Sarkisov, CEO of the Far East High Technology Fund.

“I became a nominee in order to share the successful experience we have had implementing the app at health centers in Yakutsk. It is important for us to gain feedback from public institutions as proof that the company is moving in the right direction. The second objective was to make the public aware of our project,” says Evgeny Popov. “We are currently busy rolling out the solution, as the app really does work and helps shorten the distance between patients and health centers, not to mention the waiting time to receive medical attention. However, healthcare is a conservative sector, and I really hope that this award and recognition from experts will help Medset overcome the system’s inertia faster. I am confident that this step is equally important for both the digitalization of healthcare and to promote best social practices in this sector”.
