Far East High Technology Fund Launches the Mentoring Club — A Regional Support Program for Far Eastern Start-Ups

The Far East High Technology Fund (FEHTF) has announced the launch of its Mentoring Club program — a support program for hi-tech start-ups operating in the Russian Far East. The program’s main objective is to prepare start-up projects for raising investments from both the FEHTF and from the newly-established Far Eastern Federal District Seed Fund, which will be launched in 2020 in line with the presidential order made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As of today, projects can be entered to apply for mentoring on the relevant section of the Fund’s website. The Mentoring Club is free for hi-tech companies from the region.

The mentors taking part in the new program include business professionals, advisers and financial experts who have volunteered to mentor the Far Eastern projects. The list of mentors includes:

  • Rustam Milanov, General Director and co-founder of Visitech
  • Mikhail Marchenko, CEO and co-founder of StickerRide
  • Oleg Senkov, founder of Arenza.ru
  • Andrey Kalashnikov founder of Avtobus1
  • Alexey Malikov, co-founder of Vento Group
  • Nikolai Legkodimov, Partner, Head of Technology & Risk, Risk Consulting, KPMG in Russian and the CIS
  • Oleg Makarov, Manager of Regional Development Office, Skolkovo

Mentoring activities will cover four areas: supporting business, developing business, raising investment, and doing business in the Russian Far East. In the near future, the FEHTF is planning to increase the expert support available for start-up projects by launching acceleration programs in the region in partnership with hi-tech market leaders.

“Hundreds of hi-tech projects are being implemented in the Russian Far East, and the people behind them are interested in accessing competent expert support. This new program will enable them to accelerate growth, enable their businesses to reach new levels, and will therefore make them more attractive to investors. The Mentoring Club is set to become part of the hi-tech business promotion ecosystem which is still in the making in the Russian Far East”, — said Ruslan Sarkisov, CEO of the Far East High Technology Fund.

Within the first pilot week of the program, the FEHTF received requests for expert support from more than 20 companies from various regions throughout the Far Eastern Federal District.
